About Us

Rob has been designing and developing custom engineered solutions since 1994. After graduating from the University of Michigan with a BSME degree and having co-op experience with Ford Electronics, he spent 11 years with the Manufacturing Systems Department of Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio, TX . There, he developed his passion for "making stuff that moves" and he continued to seek out projects that involved both mechanical and controls design aspects. Some of his larger projects at SwRI included a custom gantry robot for paint stripping of aircraft flight surfaces (wings, ailerons, rudders, etc.), an F16 wing lift & positioner for wing removal and assembly, a  robotic winder tending system for fiberglass manufacturing, and a servo pick & place system for hot forgings.

When he decided to move back to the Northeast to be closer to family, he took on roles as Technical Manager of the custom assembly division of an electronic assembly company, a Principal Product Design Engineer of a medical device company and a Controls Manager / Principal Automation Engineer at a food systems company. Some of his projects at those companies included precision electronic assembly robot tooling & fixturing, parts feeding systems, clean-room automation, micro-injection molding robot automation, high-speed continuous soup filler controls, advanced servo controls for continuous waterjet cutting of sheet cake. 

When presented with the opportunity to take the reins of his own company and build several assembly cells, he jumped at the chance to pursue his dreams. 

Rob is a certified Solidworks Professional and has been a user since 1996.
