Robotic Spout Assembly
This robotic assembly cell utilizes a Mitsubishi robot, and a custom-designed pneumatic press to assemble plastic rings onto stainless nozzles in a specific orientation. Up to four different nozzle designs are picked from pre-loaded magazines and placed into the press tooling. The robot works in coordination with the press to capture the tube and push it through the ring. Proper fit is verified through force feedback. Additionally, some tubes are formed at the top during assembly. Finished parts are discharged through a chute.
